In 2013 and 2015, the photographer Karolin Klüppel spent ten months in the Khasi village of Mawlynnong in northeast India, a village with only 95 houses. The Khasi live in a matrilineal society, which traditionally puts girls into an important position within the family. For this series, Klüppel depicted the girls in their everyday environment.
